Many moons ago before I met my husband I went out with a guy. I was young and silly and changed many things about myself until I agreed with the things he liked. Then, when we broke up I found myself alone and in a jam. I had no idea who I was or what I liked. Slowly but surely I tried new things and discovered I liked a great many new authors, TV shows, and hobbies. I decided that if I got the chance to try new things I’d at least give it a go.
I tried pole dancing and ended up teaching for a while. Tried my hand at cooking and boom chef for 10 years. In that time I also tried my hand at basic cake decorating and it turns out I’m not that great at it. I have tried drawing and sketching but I’m not patient enough because it takes too long.
Fast forward to now. I got a camera for Christmas. It a beautiful compact digital Canon camera with all the setting and shenanigans. I took it on holiday but since I’ve started my blog I’ve started taking more photos. The more photos I take the more I’m discovering how much I like it. I’m starting to play with the manual settings and learn how everything works. Now, I don’t think I’m now a professional by any stretch. I joined in on a Canon Instagram photo challenge page to try and stretch my skills. I’m also starting to look at other photographers and what they shoot. It’s all part of learning. It’s fun and I may as well give it a proper go.
A bit like this blog. Turns out I really do like creating and writing this blog. Even if it’s not perfect.
Try the new things. You never know what awesome things you’ll discover.
