I don’t wear a lot of make up. I never have because I was always told I looked better without it. A bit of concealer, eyes and some highlight and that’s about all I wear.
We have a wedding coming up and I wanted to look good. Since I’m older and my skin isn’t holding up so great I had this brilliant idea I’d get a bit of foundation to help out. Iron out any blotchiness and what not.
This is where that plan goes awry because I can count on one hand the amount of times I’ve ever worn foundation on one hand and every single time it wasn’t applied by me. My biggest concern was making sure I grabbed the right shade and not having a ring around my face like I’m a dirty bath tub. I didn’t want to look like a bad internet meme.
Now my guilty pleasure is watching make up videos on YouTube. Mostly drag queens putting on make up but occasionally a few professional YouTube make up types. I felt like I had it in the bag.
After priming my face (yeah just like when you paint your house) I cracked open my new Rimmel liquid foundation. It was easy as hell to put on for a first timer. Went on like a dream with my beauty blender spongy deal, or at least he Kmart version of one. It stayed on and played well with all my other make up shenanigans and blended out. Blending is apparently the key to all make up.
The nicest thing though is that it didn’t feel like my face was coated in a layer of anything. I could hardly tell I was wearing it. I reckon by the time the wedding comes around in November I’m going to have this thing lickers
Now to teach myself how to use eyeshadow…j
