It’s been a hot minute since I jumped into the woo so it’s about time we got in there. So here goes.
As you dive into any community, there is always going to be people with opinions on how to do things. How to do things, what to do, when to do it. It’s no different in the spiritual community. For example I’m in the Southern Hemisphere. 90% of people I see follow the Northern Hemisphere calendar for witchy celebrations. It makes next to no sense for me to be celebrating winter when it’s hot as BALLS here and the middle of summer (which is northern winter) with everything flourishing. To me I’d rather follow something that makes sense for where I live, and that’s ok.
Your practice will always be individual to yourself and that’s fine because that’s what makes it work. I’m not about a ceremonial formal shenanigans. I charge my stuff under full moons, set intentions under a new moon. I’ll lick the Dorito dust off my fingers and read tarot cards at a bbq drinking a beer. That’s cool. Not everyone does Tarot or divination like I do. Others need a lot more ceremony around what they do. Some people are into plants, others are into working with dieties (not my jam) or are all about the yoga and not eating animals.
This is all perfectly fine and just because we work different doesn’t mean wrong. The point of having a unique spiritual practice is that it’s yours and fits your lifestyle. Even if it’s 3 mins of ‘hey universe’ while you’re in the shower getting ready for the day or putting on your face, if it works it works. Just because it’s not social media friendly or popular doesn’t mean it’s not right. Again this is for *you* not everyone else. Do the things that fill you up and make you feel good.
You do you.
